Advanced Course Offerings
In order to attend our advanced courses you must have a minimum of six months of installation experience OR have completed the 3M beginner course.
When a trainee has tested out of advanced courses they are then considered a preferred installer for 3M. Preferred installers are listed on the 3M website and are allowed to use the 3M Preferred Installer designation at their shop and for marketing purposes.

Chris Obney
Training manager
First started working with window film in 2001. At the time, he and his business partner started tinting cars as a side business. It quickly expanded into a full-time operation that included car detailing and the installation of window film and paint protection film. Chris became the sole owner and, for 13 years, he installed window films for automotive, residential and commercial customers in Southwest Florida.
Chris offers installers a hands-on, interactive “how to” experience in his class. But his classroom also gives attendees the opportunity to network with other business owners and installers in the same field.
Peter Mahabir

Peter’s journey in the automotive industry began as a teenager when he first started tinting windows. While attending technical college in the mechanical field, he developed a deep passion for hands-on work, which has shaped his career for over 20 years.
His expertise goes beyond window tinting—he has worked across the automotive industry, helping independent auto shops, dealerships, and nationwide franchises develop and implement successful training programs.
Peter thrives in the shop, working alongside business owners and their teams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed for success. He believes that hands-on learning is the key to mastering the trade, and he’s always eager to roll up his sleeves
and get to work.
Johnathon Longoria
Trainer | Sarasota, FL
Johnathan is a Trainer at the Accent Distributing Training Center in Sarasota, Florida, bringing years of hands-on experience in the automotive film industry.
Johnathan began his career in 2018 working with Paint Protection Film (PPF) at a Toyota processing center, where he developed a strong technical foundation and a sharp attention to detail through large-scale, high-quality film applications.
He later advanced into a Head Installer role at a specialized automotive shop from 2020 to 2022, overseeing installations of PPF and vinyl wraps. During this time, he also worked as an independent contractor across Florida’s west coast—from Clearwater to Sarasota—providing film installation services and technical support to multiple shops between 2020 and 2024.
Over the years, Johnathan has developed a strong passion for precision, craftsmanship, and helping others refine their skills in the trade. As a 3M Film Application Trainer, he now shares that passion by guiding installers toward higher levels of quality, confidence, and professionalism in their work.
